We’ve been working with the brilliant Irene Afful MSc. to explore racial inclusion at work. Irene is an award-winning businesswoman, mentor, coach, and was the first-ever black female inspector in the history of Merseyside Police and is an expert in the field of diversity, equality and inclusion.
She has lived experience and is passionate about equity and inclusion. Irene’s been working with us to look at:
The nine most common types of unconscious bias at work
Understanding and identifying micro-aggressions
Cultural competence and how to develop it
Allyship and how to take individual responsibility
How to take action
It’s not enough to not be racist. We want our PSS people to be anti-racist and feel confident and supported when calling out racism or oppression of any kind.
